The last of the Mohicans
It is 1757 and the war in the North American colonies between the French and the English is raging, with both sides recruiting local Indian warriors for the battles. When the sisters Cora (Madeleine Stowe) and Alice arrive in the new country on their way to stay with their father, Colonel Munro, they fall victim to an ambush and only barely survive thanks to Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis) - a European who has grown up amongst the Mohican tribe. He escorts the sisters to Fort William and on the way he falls in love with Cora. When they reach the fort it is besieged by the French - and the final battle for survival begins...
